Our collection contains examples of the work of thousands of different photographers from Great Britain and Ireland and our archive of photographers’ names, addresses and dates provides invaluable information for family historians and researchers.

Maybe one of your relatives took photographs for a living and moved from one studio address to another with some regularity. Our database offers a real opportunity for you to find some missing parts for your own family jigsaw!

To bring our data to life, it’s great to have a story to tell. Many descendants contact us to find out what we know and are happy to share their own information with us. Sometimes this includes photographs of the photographer, close family or his/her studio.

We are always delighted to create a dedicated page to a particular photographer or family of photographers and this can have the benefit of attracting the attention of other family historians on the same quest.

You can have YOUR name included on the dedicated page if you would like to. For further information, please contact us
