There could be a number of reasons why your photographer is not listed on this site.

They could include the following –

• they were not a professional – i.e. they were an amateur photographer
• they did not operate at any time before 1940
• they did not have a studio IN THEIR OWN NAME – this can happen if they owned a studio such as ‘West Street Studio’  or ‘Abbey Studio’ etc.
• their business name was ‘Brown Brothers’ or ‘Williams & Son’ etc.
• they worked for someone else as an employee – this could be in a portrait studio or for a news agency or perhaps they travelled around and took photographs for publication as postcards
• they worked under an assumed name (not as infrequent as would be imagined).
