This biography is in a different format to all of our other biographies here at Photographers of Great Britain & Ireland 1840 – 1940 as it concentrates on the correspondence of a Victorian photographic equipment maker, retailer, photographer and technical author rather than on his full life story. The main emphasis is on a fantastic archive of letters, quotes and invoices dating from the 1890s.
